thats right. this is a project that haunted me for 3 years. And now, I’m letting it possess me for one more.

So I decided to dedicate an immense amount of care, time and thought into a new version that I’ll finally be able to call my favourite version and to finally leave this story to rest.

This FIFTH version of Overcast will have 16-pages compared to 2021’s 8-pages. It has the same script but has adopted a new art direction, a bit of tweaking on the writing, and had some character design overhauls.

In truth, I started this revamp in May 2024 and with my fulltime work, i knew it’d take some time. I thought i’d put out an update thru this devlog so that any possible enjoyers of the 2021’s version can enjoy a version that truly expresses what the writing wants to convey; a version without any filters, limiting of pages, and caps in the amount of time i want to spend on it.

As time of writing this devlog (Oct 2024), i’m 98% done all lineart, 75% all colours and screentones. I’m hoping it’ll be 100% everything by the end of this year (seriously giving myself a no-fail condition here of 3 months…), but who knows, maybe it’ll come out earlier!
